Song: Linnansa Vanki

Prisoner of ones castle

This swamp is made of words
the years has been salving (the swamp made of words).*
If doesn’t know how to forgive
will die where stands.

I’ve tried to flounder
to be like before.
But the rainy day continues
I’ll drown anyway.

Someone whispered to me: “leave”
The voices in the head shouts: “go already,
before you see everybody drowned”

Why is it that the mind is its castle’s eternal prisoner
(the mind) turns the pictures round just as it pleases.
And one can see malignance anywhere one wants to.
Ugliness won’t run out from ugly (person).
And each person has to protect ones own.
I’ll turn when I’m not grievous yet.
When the abysmal trap lurks in the anger,
I’ll run when I’m not sinked yet.

This swamp is a home of dim.
The spirits are staring.
If I don’t want to dunk my leg,
who makes me to?
I’ve seen, my mirror is changing
the picture distorts.
And I don’t understand the meaning.
What is the reason of everything?

Someone whispered to me: “leave”
The voices in the head shouts: “go already,
before you see everybody drowned”

Why is it that the mind is its castle’s eternal prisoner
(the mind) turns the pictures round just as it pleases.
And one can see malignance anywhere one wants to.
Ugliness won’t run out from ugly (person).
And each person has to protect ones own.
I’ll turn when I’m not grievous yet.
When the abysmal trap lurks in the anger,
I’ll run when I’m not sinked yet.

Notice:

*I’m not sure does the sentence mean that the years has been salving the swamp or something else ’cause there just reads “the years has been salving”. Might sound strange seens Finnish is my mother tongue, but this is poetry and there usually is this kind of sentences which aren’t usually even made to be easily understood. So you can decide by yourself what you want to think about it. : )

Thank you Hillando for correcting! 🙂
